Locally Famous

For an exhibition in our district’s office building, I photographed people I had often seen in the neighborhood, but had never spoke to before. They stayed in my memory, while others were just passing shadows. Almost all visitors to the exhibition also knew the people portrayed, but had never spoken to them. After the exhibition, many of the people pictured were greeted. And they liked that.

Für eine Ausstellung im Amtshaus unseres Bezirks habe ich Fotos von Menschen gemacht, die ich oft hier in der Nähe gesehen, aber nie angesprochen habe. Sie sind mir im Gedächtnis geblieben, während, andere Personen nur vorüberziehende Schatten waren. Fast alle Besucher der Ausstellung kannten die abgebildeten Personen ebenfalls, hatten aber auch nie mit ihnen gesprochen. Nach der Ausstellung wurden viel der abgebildeten Personen angesprochen. Und das hat ihnen gefallen.
